Archimedes Social Forestry Ltd is a new not for profit company that will be working from the Outdoor Classroom area at the Ecclesall Saw Mill, Abbey Lane, Sheffield S7 2Qz from the 15th February 2009 when they will be having a Launch Day.
The Woodland Adventure Club will be running all week, and every Saturday and Sunday thereafter, from 10am to 4pm each day for individuals, families and groups. (under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult).
Cost is £5 per person per hour. Drop in for as long or short as you like. Come along and take this opportunity to develop a variety of woodland and forest schools skills, practice delivery and generally have a wonderful time.
During the first half term week they will be building a bread oven, fences, pole lathes, tree bog and shave horses for the site, to name a few of the exciting things going on. So if you or any one you know has ever wanted to know how these are made, this is your opportunity to learn.
Archimedes Social Forestry works with a variety of client groups to develop personal and woodland skills ranging from one day to long term programmes and projects. Training is available in Foundation Social Forestry, Woodland Management, Woodland Skills, First Aid, Forest Schools amongst the range.
A Forest School Kindergarten will also be taking place on the site. Archimedes Social Forestry are looking to create a bank of people who are interested in working in this field.
